Extracurricular Activities

Sigma Kappa Sorority

My time in Sigma Kappa has been full people and opportunities that I could not have even began to imagine before coming to Clemson. As an active member I regularly contribute to philanthropic and service activities, and I served as the Vice President of Standards and Values during my sophomore year. Being in this position enabled me to strengthen my leadership and communication skills as I lead chapter meetings and helped organize social events. Undoubtedly, I have met people through this sorority whose friendships I know will endure after walking across the stage and receiving our degrees.

Feed & Seed Co.

This semester I began volunteering for Feed & Seed Co., which is a nonprofit food hub that seeks to sustainably improve food access and nutrition security in Greenville and its neighboring counties. I help every other Tuesday with distributing FoodShare boxes containing fresh produce and recipe cards that are available for all people to buy and at a discounted price for those who use SNAP/EBT. Along with volunteering time, I am also creating a presentation that introduces the effects of food insecurity as a social determinant of health with special emphasis on the Hispanic population, illustrates the goals of community health and its barriers, and recommends evidence-based programs to overcome the challenges.
